Bostwick Lake Congregational UCC church is involved with a variety of ministries in the community.
Every August a free concert for the community called Lake Effect with food and refreshment being sold. The profits from the event are given to a local organization to be used for their programming. In the past few years some of these groups have been Paws with a Cause, Special Olympics and Community Rebuilders.
The church has sent groups out to either the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation or the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in South Dakota to work with some of the Lakota Sioux people on these reservations. These projects include working with students in a summer school program, various building projects and helping to prepare a Sun Dance ground. Many of these groups were invited to participate in Lakota cultural events such as sweat lodge and pow wow.
A number of church members are involved with a student mentoring program called Kid's Hope USA. This mentoring program is being offered to students in conjunction with Lakes Elementary School which is across the street from the church.
The church sponsors a Boy Scout troop and a Cub Scout pack. The church has been a sponsor for more than 20 years.
